NFC Draft
AFC Draft
33) Detroit Lions - Alphonso Smith, CB, Wake Forest
Any way you slice it, this defense is bad. While they are struggling much more
against the run than they are the pass, they could easily be picked on there as
well. As the run defense gets addressed, their secondary will come in to
question. Smith is an aggressive CB who can shut down the pass as well as
attack the run. He's by far one of the best CBs in the draft.

34) Kansas City Chiefs - Alex Mack, OC, California
The Chiefs struggle to defend the run as much if not more than any team in
football. So, some LB depth makes sense. However, Mack may be the best OC
in the draft, and is the kind of player who could be in the league for a long
time.

35) Cincinnati Bengals - *Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma
I'm not sold on Reggie Kelly. While the Bengals need serious help on defense,
they may have a better chance of making in the short term by duking it out
with folks in a score fest. Gresham would be a great weapon for Palmer to
have.

36) Oakland Raiders - Mike Mickens, CB, Cincinnati
The Raiders are just too easy to run the ball on. They need some help at the
DT spot. However, the just cut Hall and we'll need a man CB who can fill his
shoes. Mickens is capable of doing so.

37) St. Louis Rams - *D.J. Moore, CB, Vanderbilt
It's criminal how bad the Rams' defense is. They can't stop the pass, and they
sure as heck can't stop the run. The CB position really seems to be a sore spot
for them, so Moore would be a good selection here.

38) San Francisco 49ers - Louis Murphy, WR, Florida
When you're leading WR (Isaac Bruce) also happens to be one of the oldest
starters at the position in the league, you have to start looking at contingency
plans. Murphy is a solid WR with nice speed and decent hands.

39) Seattle Seahawks - Juaquin Iglesias, WR, Oklahoma
The Seahawks need help at WR in a major way. Iglesias has shown that he's a
reliable target to get the ball to.

40) Houston Texans - Duke Robinson, OG, Oklahoma
Robinson is regarded as the best OG in the draft. The Texans aren't exactly
sealed up at that position, so they add a very talented O-Lineman here.

41) Jacksonville Jaguars - Derrick Williams, WR, Penn State
The Jaguars are lacking talent and depth at the WR position. While Williams has
been inconsistent at times, he's also shown that he can be a special player. At
the very least, he could develop into a nice kick return man.

42) Baltimore Ravens - Chase Coffman, TE, Missouri
Todd Heap is a solid TE, but his production has tailed off as of late. Coffman
has blown up this year, showing that he can be a premier traget in the passing
game. The kid can produce yards after the catch, and is a solid blocker too.

43) Miami Dolphins - *Terrence Cody, DT/NT, Alabama
We'll be conservative and say that Cody tips the scales at 360lbs. The Dolphins
run a 3-4 defense, and know the importance of being stout at the NT spot.
Cody has shown a tremendous amount of promise so far this year, and could
develop into one of the league's best. While this may be a reach considering
how raw he is, did anyone see him against Georgia?

44) Denver Broncos - Max Unger, OC, Oregon
The Broncos should be content if Unger falls to them here. Tom Nalen is 37,
and the fill-in, Casey Wiegmann, is 35. One or both could retire any day now.
Unger has the talent, smarts and experience to start for this team as a rookie.

45) New England (via Chargers) - *Trevard Lindley, CB, Kentucky
Wheatley was a nice addition for the Pats in the last draft, but they still need
to add more talent at the CB spot. Lindley is a reliable CB who's looked good in
SEC play this year.

46) Atlanta Falcons - *DeMarcus Granger, DT, Oklahoma
Granger is a good-sized DT who could become an integral part of this team's
D-Line rotation. The Falcons usually surrender 100+ on the ground, so this pick
addresses a need.

47) Cleveland Browns - Darius Butler, CB, Connecticut
This team has already shown an interest in acquiring talent at the CB position.
Butler has proven to be a solid CB with an aggressive style of play.

48) Buffalo Bills - Marcus Freeman, OLB, Ohio State
The Bills starting LB corps is decent, but I don't see much in the depth
department. Freeman has the ability to learn the ropes early on and be there
when needed.

49) New York Jets - B.J. Raji, NT, Boston College
This 3-4 team covets quality NTs. Raji is a 325lb. run stuffer who could get
even bigger. Jenkins is of course a quality starter, but has some injury issues.
This would be a good depth pick.

50) Chicago Bears - Phil Loadholt, OT, Oklahoma
The Bears took steps to improve their weak running game by adding a quality
RB in Matt Forte. However, their O-Line has to get better. Loadholt didn't look
too bad against Orakpo, and did more to help his stock than hurt it. He showed
he'd be able to play OT for this squad.

51) Indianapolis Colts - *Geno Atkins, DT, Georgia
If there's one team I could see stacking up at the DT position, it's the Colts.
Atkins is one of the better DTs in the nation, showing that he can make things
happen at the LOS.

52) Minnesota Vikings - Tyrone McKenzie, OLB, South Florida
McKenzie is a solid OLB who could take over for Ben Leber when the time is
right. The Vikings have one of the best run defenses around, and they need to
keep things that way.

53) New York Giants (via Saints) - *Myron Rolle, SS, Florida State,
The Giants lack talent and depth at the SS position. Rolle is a dedicated, smart
football player who could see reps sooner vs. later.

54) Arizona Cardinals - *Ciron Black, OT, LSU
This may not be a real sexy pick, but it makes sense. Black is a quality OT who
could challenge for the LT spot in time. Gandy has looked good, but not great.

55) Miami Dolphins (via Redskins) - Clint Sintim, OLB, Virginia
Joey Porter has been a phenom this year, and Matt Roth has been very stout
at the point of attack. So, an OLB isn't a huge need. However, the Giants have
shown that you can never have too many talented guys that can get to the
QB. And, Sintim has the size and ability to play inside or out.

56) Green Bay Packers - Fili Moala, DT, USC
There are mixed opinions on this guy. Some think he's a 1st Round pick, while
others think he's overrated. I'm in the middle. At 6'5 300lbs., he has the ability
to get even bigger.

57) Carolina Panthers - Terrance Taylor, DT, Michigan
Taylor has slipped this year, but he's still a stout DT who can throw up a lot of
weight on the bench. Some solid workout numbers can keep him in the Round 2
range.

58) Philadelphia Eagles - Jonathon Luigs, OC, Arkansas
Many had Luigs rated as the best OC in college at the onset of the season.
While I don't think this is a huge need for this team, you take talent when it
drops in your lap.

59) New England Patriots - *Auston English, DE/OLB, Oklahoma
Vrabel is now 33 years old. While he's been great for the Pats, it's time to move
on. English could make an impact right out of the gate.

60) Tampa Bay Bucs - Javon Ringer, RB, Michigan State
The Bucs have had their share of issues when it comes to keeping RBs healthy.
Ringer has proven to be a strong runner, someone that can carry the rock 20+
times a game with consistency.

61) Pittsburgh Steelers - *Herman Johnson, OG, LSU
Some folks have Johnson as a 1st Rounder, but I haven't seen enough out of
him to merit that high of a mark. While he's quick for 350lbs., he's slow
compared to a lot of the DTs he's had to face. At any event, he has enough
talent to become a solid OG. The Steelers need help at the OG spot.

62) Dallas Cowboys - Derek Pegues, FS, Mississippi State
I love Roy Williams, but the guy is not the same Safety from when he entered
the NFL. He can cover the run, but he's too susceptable to balls over the top.
Pegues is better suited to play FS, but is talented enough to fill a void at SS
here.

63) Tennessee Titans - Michael Hamlin, SS, Clemson
The Titans' have the capable Chris Hope as their starter at SS, but they don't
have much in depth after that. Hamlin is a solid player who's had the misfortune
of playing on a poor team this year.

64) New York Giants - *Maurice Evans, DE, Penn State
Evans got busted with some pot, so his stock has to be discounted. However, I
think most of the tarnish will be worn off be next April. While some teams will
still shy away from him, I think the Giants will pounce on this pass rushing DE
who's hard to stop once he finds his groove.
