1) Oakland Raiders - Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State The Raiders have been notorious for giving up way too many Sacks. Yet, they ignored this problem in the 2009 draft. Instead, they opted for Khalif Barnes. If he doesn't play a lot better than he did as a Jaguar, they'll need a new OT. |
2) St. Louis Rams - *Jevan Snead, QB, Ole Miss The Rams made a good choice by drafting a new franchise LT in Jason Smith. So, that's one position they don't need to address here. However, I predict that Bulger has another bad year and the Rams start looking for new leadership. |
3) Kansas City Chiefs - Brandon Spikes, ILB, Florida The Chiefs decided to pull the trigger on Tyson Jackson vs. Aaron Curry. While that decision may be understood on some levels, this team still lacks young talent at the ILB positions. Spikes can hit and blitz very well. |
4) Detroit Lions - Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma The Lions faired well in the 2009 draft, but they failed to address the LT position. With the amount of money they threw at Stafford, it will make sense for them to protect their new, costly investment. |
5) Cleveland Browns - *Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida Ay 6'6 285+lbs., Dunlap has the size and tha bility to play DE in a 3-4. This kid has long arms and is very tough to run outside of. If the Browns are drafting this high, I doubt their D-Line did its job. |
6) Seattle Seahawks (Denver) - *Eric Berry, SS, Tennessee Berry may be the best Defensive player in the nation. This is a lights-out kid that can hit and cover tremendously well. The Seahawks don't have a Safety that comes close to him in talent. |
7) Cincinnati Bengals - *Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State The Bengals are far from being okay at the WR position. While this team has always raised question marks around their defensive play, the Offense hums when Palmer is healthy. Bryant is a stud that could keep things going for them. |
8) Seattle Seahawks - *Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma If they do end up picking here, then it's hard to imagine that Hasselback had a good enough year to keep him safe within the Seahwaks' witness protection program. Sanchez was a heavy consideration in 2009 for a reason. |
9) New York Jets - Taylor Mays, FS, USC Mays is a phenomenal athlete that runs like a CB, yet hits like a LB. He has the ability to play at either Safety spot. And, he has experience with 3-4 looks on Defense. He'd be a welcomed addition if available here. |
10) Buffalo Bills - *Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois The Bills have some good talent at WR, but age is not on the side of its starters. Benn is a dominating WR that would bring even more talent to this squad. He should help fill some shoes. |
11) Green Bay Packers - Sergio Kindle, OLB, Texas We'll have to see how well Chad Clifton holds up. If there are signs of trouble there, don't rule out an OT here. As it stands today, this team doesn't have much depth at OLB. Kindle is a beast and would challenge to start. |
12) Jacksonville Jaguars - Ndamukong Suh, DT/NT, Nebraska I don't see David Garrad as the long-term play for this team, so a QB is a distinct possibility. However, Suh is a man-child and could play at any spot along the Jaguars' D-Line. |
13) New Orleans Saints - Sean Weatherspoon, OLB, Missouri Weatherspoon is a tackling machine that quite frankly brings more to the table than Fujita or Shanle. The Saints have wanted more production out of their LBs, and they'd get that here. |
14) San Francisco 49ers - Tim Tebow, QB, Florida The 49ers are seeing improvement in a number of places, but I still think the QB spot might end up being an unsettled issue for them. One can argue about mechanics when it comes to Tebow, but is there a better leader in the nation? |
15) Washington Redskins - *Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma Landing Haynesworth was a big move for the Redskins, but their D-Line hasn't been completely shored up. While listed as a DT, McCoy has the ability to play at any spot along a 4-man front. |
16) Minnesota Vikings - Colt McCoy, QB, Texas The Vikings may not make it past this point in the draft because of mediocre play at the QB spot. If this team is talking about being interested in Brett Favre, you know they need an upgrade. |
17) San Diego Chargers - *Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa Clary isn't a liability at RT, but there are better options out there. In fact, Bulaga has the potential to play at LT at the next level. Bulaga and McNeil would form one of the better OT tandems in the league. |
18) Miami Dolphins - Terrence Cody, NT, Alabama Many don't see Cody falling this far, but one has to remember that he's not an every down player and really only fits a team that operates out of a 3-4 scheme. Miami needs a new NT to replace the aging Ferguson. |
19) Tampa Bay Bucs - *Joe Haden, CB, Florida It's really easy to like Ronde Barber, but the guy is now 34 years-old and it's starting to show. The Bucs need to start planning for the future now, as Barber could retire after the end of this season. |
20) Denver Broncos (Chicago) - Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama The Broncos simply don't have enough talent at the LB position to pull off their new 3-4 scheme. McClain is an awesome-sized LB at 6'4 250lbs. and has the talent to play at any spot in a 3-4. |
21) San Francisco 49ers (Carolina) - Ciron Black, OT, LSU The 49ers need to address their O-Line, with the greatest need sitting at the RT position. While one could argue that Black may not have the feet to play at LT, he certainly has the makings to fill the void where needed. |
22) Arizona Cardinals - Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma The Cardinals have been in a funk at the TE spot for a while. Regardless of who they draft or pick up in free agency, it just doesn't seem like they can find a fit. Kiss all that goodbye if they can land Gresham here. |
23) Dallas Cowboys - Brandon Lafell, WR, LSU While T.O. was a constant headache for the Cowboys, the guy did produce. Crayton and Austin are talented, but I don't think the WR position is completely shored up. Lafell would make sense here. |
24) New England Patriots - Antonio Coleman, OLB, Auburn Coleman is poised to have a banner 2009 season. Blessed with amazing quickness off the edge and good size for the position, New England would get a gift here. |
25) Houston Texans - *Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers The Texans' O-Line has shown some signs of improvement, but it would be silly to say that they couldn't use more talent in that area. Davis is a very good prospect that could play at OT or OG if needed. |
26) Philadelphia Eagles - Greg Hardy, DE, Ole Miss Hardy's consistency and durability has been questioned by some, but the guy is extremely productive when he's mentally and physically at 100%. The Eagles don't have many holes, so they add pure talent here. |
27) Indianapolis Colts - *Everson Griffen, DE, USC If Griffen plays to his full potential this season, there's no way he drops here. He's one of if not the best prospect to come out of the state of Arizona in the past 10 years. DE may not be a huge need, but he's too gifted to pass on. |
28) Tennessee Titans - George Selvie, DE, South Florida The Titans added Jovan Haye to the squad and drafted Marks in the 2009 draft. But, I don't think the rebuild along the D-Line is complete. Kearse is another year older and Vanden Bosch's production has slipped. |
29) Atlanta Falcons - *Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina The Falcons gave up 125+ rushing yards per game in 2008, so they added Peria Jerry to the mix. Even with this addition, I think they'd like to add more help at the position. Austin is a man-child that could be a rotation guy Day 1. |
30) Pittsburgh Steelers - Corey Wooton, DE, Northwestern The last time I checked, the Steelers were running a 3-4 alignment on Defense. That calls for big DEs. Kiesel and Smith are both 30+ with no sturdy options backing them up. At 6'7 270+, Wooton could fit the bill. |
31) Baltimore Ravens - Javier Arenas, CB, Alabama The CB position is one where the Ravens continue to add talent in the hopes that they can make something stick. While Arenas is not only a legit CB, the guy has crazy kick return skills. |
32) New York Giants - Jerry Hughes, OLB, TCU The Giants are flat out loaded and don't have any glaring needs. So, they can add a great pass-rusher to their mix and take the needed time to convert him from a DE to a rush-Linebacker. |
