Players are rated in terms of their professional potential at the stated position. Ratings may not be indicative of where a player is
expected to be selected in the draft. Players listed are generally those eligible for the upcoming draft.

While there are still around 4 to 5 FBs drafted every year, there isn't too much of a need for the traditional FB anymore. Many
Offensive Coordinators simply don't use an offensive scheme that requires that big, hulking blocker going up the middle on a
consistent basis. FBs can also stick around for a while, so there isn't too much turn at the position either. At any event, there are
still some prospects who can pitch in on Special Teams, or make that key block where the opportunity presents itself. This year,
there isn't too much depth at said position.
1) Jorvorskie Lane FB 6'0 285 Texas A&M
Even though Lane gets enough carries to be considered a Tailback, he's built like a Nose
Tackle. He has very good speed for his size, and is simply too powerful for most LB corps to
deal with throughout an entire contest. While his size would make one think he's just a goal line
threat, he can carry it in the open field as well. While he's not fast or quick enough to be used
as an every down back, some team will covet him as a situational runner who can thump.

2) Brannan Southerland FB 6'0 240 Georgia
Don't bother looking up Southerland's rushing stats, as they're nothing to brag about. This has
everything Georgia's other RBs vs. any kind of lacking talent at the FB position. On many other
teams, this kid would get a lot more carries. He's good in short yardage situations, and can
block very well. He's a better athlete than Jovorskie Lane, but will miss some time recovering
from foot surgery. Who knows if he'll come back 100% and be able to retain his good speed.

3) Conredge Collins FB 6'0 230 Pittsburgh
Collins is more of a TB than a FB. Even though he had a prolific High School career as a TB,
there is no way he's displacing McCoy, one of the best RBs in the nation. However, Collins
has enough talent to where the Panthers want him on the field. He's developing into a nice
blocker who picks up blitzes well. And, he can be a threat as a runner to spell McCoy or keep
Defenses guessing.

4) Brock Bolen RB 6'0 238 Louisville
Bolen is RB/FB who can pose multiple threats to a defense. He's athletic enough to where he
can the run the ball and gain some nice yardage. In doing so, he has the size to wear a
defense down. He can also catch the ball out of the backfield as well as many other true
Tailbacks. He was a great FB in High School, showing power as a runner and some good
pop as a blocker.

5) Tony Fiametta FB 6'1 235 Syracuse
Fiametta is a very gifted athlete who you'll seldom see carry the ball. However, you will see
him blow up many a defender who gets anywhere near whomever he's trying to protect. This
heady kid brings a lot of confidence and passion onto the field with him. While the program as
a whole hasn't shown much promise, Fiametta is a bright spot. This former Lacrosse star has
the potential to make a squad, even if only as a Special Teams man.
